I’m not sure what happened to this post but it got lost like things sometimes do. I meant to share this post around Easter, when the bunny shaped wreath would have still been relevant but whatever :) Things happen, right?
In my life where I have been a floral snob… I hated fake flowers with a passion. If I couldn’t have real, fresh flowers I just wasn’t interested. But as I get older my allergies have gotten worse. Way worse. Lilies, one of my favorite flowers I became allergic to some years back. One day I was fine and the next I was having a difficult time breathing when a gorgeous arrangement with lilies was placed on my desk. So I slowly warmed up the the silk florals.
It helps that they’ve come a long way in appearance. They used to be hideous. Every single one of them. But these days you can get some that look 100% real. It’s crazy! Granted they are crazy expensive, too but you get what you pay for!
The fake flowers I used for this arrangement are hardly the most expensive you can get but I’m happy with them. I’ll show you how to take some middle of the road stems and turn them into a totally glam arrangement with little effort!
For this project you will need:
- Two floral “bushes”
- Glass vase
- Metallic scrapbooking paper
Measure the inside of your vase. Trim your paper to match the inner depth of the vase.
Roll and place inside of the vase. Bing, bang, boom! You have a gold vase. Temporarily of course!
Take your first bush and spread each stem out.
Do the same for your second “bush”.
Place the two bunches together. With them all spread out they’ll kind of fill out as one bunch when you jam ‘em together. Use a piece of tape to hold them steady.
Place them in the vase and move the stems around to get the most visually appealing look.
Set your flower arrangement out and let them be pretty and glam and amazing. And allergen free :)
