I am so proud to say that I am just rolling right along with my 2013 Resolutions. One of them was to decorate my bedroom before I get tired of the paint color and things are just peachy!
Some time ago I made a specs organizer and it has gotten a lot of play on Pinterest. Running along the same vein, I wanted to make an organizer for some of my prettier earrings. There are two reasons for this. 1 – since I work from home my pretty earrings don’t get worn much and that seems just sad. 2 – I need wall art for my bedroom and what better to adorn my boudoir than my favorite and prettiest jewelry?
For this project you will need:
- Photo frame
- Staple Gun
First off find your frame. This is one I have had tucked away for sometime. In fact, it previously lived in my very first master bedroom I had as an adult. I think it is fitting that it gets brought back in a big way…
First you’ll need to remove the glass, backing and the back. Mine was actually permanently affixed on one side, so I had to bust out a razor blade to cut it free. Set all of these pieces to the side and hang on to them in the event you want this bad boy to once again live as a picture frame.
Take your lace and cut a piece that overlaps the opening by about an inch. My lace is from horrible synthetic lace runner that I got from a flea market for a buck or so. While I would be mortified to actually run it on my furniture, it is great for crafting…
Take a look at your frame. The front lip where the glass hangs out is really thin. Staples inserted here are going to come out of the front of the frame. Stapled on the edge where my finger is pointing, however are going to be totally cool.
Hold your lace taut and staple down. When full attached, either staple the overhang onto the back of the frame or neatly trim the extra.
If needed, attach a hanger to the back of your frame and put on the wall. Find your prettiest earrings and hang this sucker up!
Happy Friday out there, hoping you have an absolutely fantastic weekend!
