Have you ever been on your way out the door and thought that you could use a little extra pop of color? I was on my way out and I knew I was going to get to my appointment about 15-20 minutes early. And what does a crafter do with an extra 15-20 minutes? Busts out the beads and findings, of course!
So I put these guys together in my few minutes and strung them through my ears. In all honesty I think that the one you see on the right needs a bit of tweaking because something is amiss, but I did get two compliments on them when I was out :)
This project makes a super great stash buster. Just use what you already have on hand!
For this project you will need:
- seed beads
- earring hooks
- jump rings
I was using 6mm seed beads left over from a mixed bag. Some of them had nice big holes like the one on the right and some had weensy holes like the one on the left. Pick out a good 10-12 that you think have bigger holes and set aside.
Run two beds on your first jump ring and close back up.
This is where things might get a bit tricky. You’re actually going to run two jump rings through each seed bead. I wound up removing and tossing a few of my beads back into the bag because the hole just wasn’t big enough. It takes some finagling but after you get one or two you get it figured out!
Just add the next ring onto one of the beads you just put on. Continue to grow it from there until you have the length you desire.
Add your earring finding on the last jump ring and close up.
And there they are! Now they’re not perfect but they were kind of a rush job!
And I can fix them up, perhaps one night when I want to watch TV. Because I don’t just watch TV, I crochet or embroider or do something and just kind of listen to the TV!
You can make as many pairs as you have jump rings and different colored beads! I hope you’ll make some, and give me a shout if you do!
