Hello hello Friends! This week, I have a super easy, quirky craft for you. It involves an air plant and a tiny dinosaur, so you know it’s going to be fun ;) I took this $3 birdhouse from the Target Dollar Spot and transformed it into an adorable patio (or indoor) decoration. All you need is a small-ish bridhouse, a small-ish dinosaur, paint in your favorite colors and an airplant.
The first thing you need to do is add some color to your plain birdhouse. I did a light coat of paint on the roof, inside the little bird-y holes and around the base. On the roof, I rubbed off a bit of paint with a paper towel (while it was still wet) to give it a more sheer and weathered look.
Next, paint your tiny dinosaur (I got a pack of six dinosaurs also at Target for a couple dollars) in a coordinating bright color. It may take a couple coats to cover completely. Stick the dinosaur in one hole in your bird house. It should even need glue, unless your dinosaur is super tiny. This is great, because you can always switch out the dinosaur for something else when you get tired of this look. I personally find myself want to change things up every few months.
Finally, add your airplant to the remaining hole in your birdhouse and voila – a cute, pint-sized, plant-y decoration that you can put just about anywhere. And, that is super easy to take care of – air plants don’t need any soil or anything – just mist with water every couple days, or take your airplant out and submerge it fully in water every other week or so.
So, I hope you enjoyed the project and that you’re all having a lovely weekend!!Written by Laura Mason - Visit Website
