Office Bound Cork Board Lamp

I wouldn't necessarily say that I have a thing for lamps. I have a thing for shoes and a thing for sunglasses and even a thing for rugs. But lamps aren't normally on my radar.

Which makes it seem kind of odd that I felt the need to DIY two lamps within a pretty short time span. The lamps I've had in my livingroom are 8 years old and 12 years old. Because once I find a lamp I love, that's kind of a wrap.

Oz the Great and Powerful Inspired Rainbow Jewelry

When I was given the opportunity to make a craft inspired by the movie Oz the Great and Powerful, I seriously couldn't have been happier. I LOVE movies and I especially love fun, fantasy movies. Princess Bride, anyone?

So I popped the movie in and watched it. Twice. And I changed my idea for my project probably 20 times but one scene kept coming back to me... The point where Oz must decide to, quite literally whether or not to take the plunge into this fantastic fantasy world and to commit to his adventure in the Land of Oz. The colors in the clouds were so beautiful, so vibrant that they became the color palette for my jewelry project.

Galaxy Shoes Tutorial for Men, Women and Children at Mom Spark!

So this galaxy shoe trend has been big, right? Well, I'm just now hopping onto the bandwagon and I'm guessing better late than never!

I wanted to make pair of the fun little kicks for my nephew. He'll wear out any pair of shoes I make for him. I tell the tale all about the tale of the viper inspired reptile shoes I made for him over at Mom Spark!

This DIY is fairly quick and easy and I'm pretty happy with it for an unguided first attempt. This tutorial does not use bleach, just acrylic paints and fabric/textile medium.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Mom Spark to check out these DIY galaxy shoes for men, women and children!

Fun Summer Watermelon Bowl DIY

DIY Watermelon Bowl - Dream a Little Bigger Blog

So far this year I've purchased 4 watermelons. Yesterday I finally split open a good one! You see two of the others were either really pink and bitter, one really red and mushy and past the prime, and in the case of one very odd watermelon, tasting like dirt. So when this one made that popping sound that happens when a perfect melon is splitting open, I became instantly happy. And for breakfast, lunch and my afternoon snack, I gorged on watermelon.

I guess it is no surprise that when I was digging in a craft supply tote looking for rope and I happend upon a bare wood bowl previously stashed away that I instantly thought of a watermelon. Truly, I had to stop myself from making other watermelon items yesterday, too. I figure, one's enough for this week :)

Meet a Blogger - Amy Anderson from Mod Podge Rocks!

So while I was formulating a plan for Mod Podge Week I thought to myself, "you know what would be the cherry on the sundae?" If Amy Anderson from Mod Podge Rocks! would be willing to interview for readers here at Dream a Little Bigger.

I instantly got into contact and honestly didn't know if I'd hear back. I mean, Amy is BIG, big time and who knew how long it would take before she even saw my message. But I have to tell you, she is one of the nicest "big time" bloggers ever.

I'm so very excited (and a whole lot star struck) to share with you an interview with Amy Anderson of Mod Podge Rocks! and Washi Tape Crafts

Newspaper & Mod Podge Furniture Makeover

Welcome to Mod Podge week and Project #6 in particular! A few weekends ago I had a bang up thrifting day. I went just about everywhere and, I'm not being the least bit overly dramatic when I say, nothing more could fit in the car. In fact, getting this one last item, this chair was like playing freaking Tetris.
